Falcons Soar Over The Weekend

Lary paces men with third place finish in the 1000m; Women’s 4x800m relay team registers season best time

FITCHBURG, Mass. (March 2, 2013) – The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams were in action over the weekend as the men visited the 2013 Tufts Last Chance Meet, while members of the women’s team competed at the 2013 ECAC Championships at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.

For the ladies, junior Samantha Wilkinson (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield) led the way, placing 15th overall in the 500m with a solid time of 1:21.25, while the 4x800m relay team of Wilkinson, classmate Alyson Moreau (Barrington, R.I/Barrington) and sophomores Jenae Harrison (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington) and Braila Roy (Hyannis, Mass./Barnstable) registered a season best time of 9:58.69, passing the previous time by seven second en-route to a 25th place finish.

Junior Pat Conaty (Southington, Conn./Southington) paced the men, placing fifth in the pole vault with a height of 4.11m, while senior Will Lary (Winchendon, Mass./Murdock) posted a solid time of 2:38.28 in the 1000m (3rd) to round out the top Falcon performances.

Select members of the Fitchburg State men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams await their selection to the NCAA Championships on March 8th.
