Falcons Soar At 2015 ECAC Indoor Championships

Sattiewhite places fourth overall in high jump to pace men; Harrison leads women with 11th place effort in the 800 meter

New York, N.Y. – The Fitchburg State men's and women's indoor track & field teams were in action over the weekend as they competed at the 2015 ECAC Championships hosted by the Armory in New York City.

For the ladies, senior Jenae Harrison paced the women's squad, placing 11th overall in the 800 meter with a time of 2:19.20, while classmate Rebecca McClure added a 17th place finish in the pole vault with mark of 3.31 meters.

The women's 4x800m relay team of Harrison, senior Braila Roy, newcomer Nicole Gaffney and sophomore Sadie Zbikowski turned in a solid time of 10:04.77 to place 13th overall, while freshman Annie Woolley rounded out the top Falcon efforts for the women in the 60 meter hurdles (22nd) with a time of 9.57 seconds.

Newcomer Ben Sattiewhite led the way on the men's side, placing fourth overall in the high jump with mark of 2.02 meters, while senior Eric Ouellette put forth a solid time of 15:17.48 in the 5000m with a ninth place finish.

Freshman Chavinskee Milcent was also strong for the Falcons, registering a 17th place effort in the high jump (1.92m) before placing 26th overall in the long jump with a mark of 6.33 meters, while senior Phillip Saint-Juste turned in a time of 8.66 seconds in the 60m hurdles to place 20th overall.

The 4x800 meter relay team of sophomore Chauncey Beatty, classmate Matthew Cuomo, junior Richard Ethier, IV and senior Jim Quinlan closed out the top Falcon performances for the men's squad, turning in a solid time of 8:21.08 to finish 15th overall.

Select members of the Fitchburg State men's and women's indoor track and field teams await their selection to the NCAA DIII Championships on March 13th.
