Fitchburg State Races At Jay Carisella Invitational

Woolley qualifies for DIII NE's in 60m hurdles with ninth place time of 9.57 seconds

BOSTON, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's indoor track and field team competed at the 2015-16 Jay Carisella Invitational on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Northeastern University at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center.

Sophomore Annie Woolley paced the women, placing ninth overall in the 60 meter hurdles with a DIII New England qualifying time of 9.57 seconds, while Woolley added a 23rd place effort in the 200m with a MASCAC qualifying time of 27.60 seconds.

In the 400 meter, junior Sadie Zbikowski (66.64)sophomore Holly Sessler (67.34) and newcomer Olivia Milsted placed 21st, 23rd and 24th respectively to qualify for MASCAC's, while freshman Molly Atkinson turned a post-season qualifying time of 10.71 seconds in the 60m hurdles.

Junior Kelly McCarthy posted a MASCAC qualifying time of 12:03.60 with a 14th place finish in the mile, while sophomore Casey Taylor (13th), classmate Shawna Ryan (15th) and senior Jessica Mangan (17th) notched post-season qualifying times of 5:53.18, 6:02.87 and 6:12.97 in the mile.

In the 800 meter, sophomores Bridget Diggins (2:42.68),Cassie Lavallee (2:47.14) and Alyssa Cardosa (2:53.69) placed 14th, 15th and 17th respectively to qualify for MASCAC's to round out the top Falcon efforts on the women's side.

The Fitchburg State women's track and field team will be back in action following the winter break as they compete in the 2015-16 Reggis Poyau Memorial Invite, hosted by Brandeis University on Saturday, January 16th at 11 a.m.
