Fitchburg State Shines At Dartmouth Indoor Classic

Zbikowski sets new Fitchburg State record in the pole vault with vault of 3.40 meters

HANOVER, N.H. The Fitchburg State women's indoor track team was in action this afternoon as the Falcons competed in the 2017 Dartmouth Indoor Classic at the Leveron Field House.

Senior Sadie Zbikowski paced the Falcons, placing fourth overall in the pole vault with an Open New England qualifying vault of 3.40 meters to set a new school record, while junior Annie Woolley posted a DIII NE qualifying time of 26.70 seconds in the 200 meter with an 11th place finish.

Senior Morgan Steele continued her strong 2016-17 campaign with a tenth place DIII New England qualifying toss of 13.82 meters, while the 4x200 meter relay team of freshman Micalea Goldenberg, sophomore Samantha Woodman, junior Amanda Remie and Woolley placed third overall with a post-season qualifying time of 1:55.37.

Junior Shawna Ryan turned in a solid MASCAC qualifying time of 2:31.32 in the 800 meter (25th), while Steele added a post-season qualifying throw of 10.90m with a 21st place finish in the shotput. Sophomore Ashley Hyde closed out the top efforts for the Green and Gold on the afternoon, posting a MASCAC qualifying time of 5:56.27 in the mile run (33rd).

The Fitchburg State women's indoor track team returns to action next weekend as they complete in the 2016-17 MASCAC/Alliance Indoor Track Championship Meet, hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday at 10 a.m.
