Woolley Named ECAC DIII NE Women’s Indoor Track Athlete Of The Week

Malden, Mass. native picks up first ECAC weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior Annie Woolley was recently selected Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division IIII New England Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Woolley collects her first ECAC DIII NE weekly accolade on the year after earning All-New England Honors in the 60 meter hurdles with an Open New England qualifying time of 8.83 seconds. Annie placed second overall in the event to set a new school record in the process at DIII New England Championships, hosted by MIT on Saturday afternoon, while currently ranked second in nation in the 60 meter hurdles.

The Fitchburg State women's track & field team returns to action this weekend as select members complete at the 2016-17 Open New England Championships, hosted by Northeastern University, starting on Friday at 2 p.m.
