Fitchburg State Takes On Tufts Final Qualifying Meet

Woolley breaks own school record in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.82 seconds

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's indoor track team was in action this afternoon, competing in the 2017 Tufts Final Qualifying Indoor Meet at the Gantcher Center.

Junior Annie Woolley paced the Falcons, taking top honors in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.82 seconds to break her own school record in the process, while senior Morgan Steele placed eighth overall in the weight throw with a toss of 14.39 meters.

Steele concluded the day with a tenth place effort in the shot put with a throw of 10.73 meters to close out the top performances for the Green and Gold on the afternoon.

The Fitchburg State women's indoor track team returns to action next weekend as select members compete in the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Ill., starting on Friday at 10 AM.
