Falcons Soar At USATF New England Championships
Young registers pair of top six efforts for Fitchburg State
Cambridge, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the 2019-20 USATF New England Championships on Sunday afternoon, hosted by Harvard University at the Gordon Indoor Track.

How It Happened
Senior Brianna Young (Mansfield, Mass.) led the way for the Green and Gold, placing fifth overall in the shot put with a throw of 9.82 meters, while adding a sixth place toss of 12.08 meters in the weight throw.
In the 800 meter, newcomers Lilah McAndrew (Lyme, Conn.) (31st), Nicole Cofer (Lowell, Mass.) and Nicolette Kennedy (Groveland, Mass.) posted solid times of 2:34.71, 2:59.91 and 3:02.81, while junior Olivia Mullins (Plaistow, N.H.) registered a 29th place time of 5:47.30 in the mile.
Rounding out the top efforts for the Green and Gold on the afternoon was freshman Devin Tormey (Fitchburg, Mass.), who finished ninth in the 60 meter hurdles with time of 9.97 seconds.
