Falcons Shine At William Sutherland III Invite

McInnis leads the way for Falcons with a trio of MASCAC qualifying marks

New Haven, Conn. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team returned to action this afternoon, competing in the 2021-22 William Sutherland III Invitational, hosted by Southern Connecticut State University.

How It Happened

Graduate student Natasha McInnis (Leominster, Mass.) paced the Falcons after placing eighth overall in the long jump with a MASCAC qualifying mark of 4.84 meters, while adding a post-season qualifying time of 29.41 seconds in the 200 meter with a 15th place effort. McInnis concluded her stellar afternoon, qualifying for the MASCAC's in the 55 meter dash with an eighth place time of 7.71 seconds.

In the 55 meter hurdles, sophomores Makany Camara (Lowell, Mass.) (8th) and Erin Donelan (Fitchburg, Mass.) (11th) turned in times of 10.06 seconds and 11.21 seconds respectively, while junior Lena Spadafore (Lunenburg, Mass.) posted a 14th place time of 1:14.68 in the 400 meter.

In the field, Camara collected her second MASCAC qualifying mark with a 5th place jump of 1.50 meters in the high jump, while sophomore Olivia Kephart (Rutland, Mass.) registered a post-season qualifying toss of 8.29 meters in the weight throw with an 18th place finish.

Freshman Antonia Sacramone (Hubbardston, Mass.) collected a MASCAC qualifying, 18th place toss of 8.08 meters in the shot put, while classmate Marjorie Veliotis (Stoughton, Mass.) (31.56), Camara (31.66) and junior Jenna Aubuchon (Fitchburg, Mass.) (34.99) round out the top Fitchburg State performances on the afternoon, placing 18th, 20th and 21st in the 200 meter.
