Women's Indoor Track Opens 2024-25 Campaign At the Springfield College Season Opener

Scott paced Green & Gold with fifth place time of 1:50.15 in the 600 meter

Springfield, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's outdoor track & field team placed sixth overall with a total of six points at the 2024 Springfield College Season Opener at the Springfield College Field House.

How It Happened

Junior Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, finishing fifth overall in the 600 meter (1:50.15), 17th in the 200 meter (29.29) and seventh in the triple jump (9.46 meters

In the 60 meter dash, freshman Arieyana Robinson (Worcester, MA) (17th) and classmate Maribelis Alcantara (Salem, MA) (22nd) posted times of 8.65 seconds and 8.98 seconds, while in the 600 meter, junior Trishannah Scott (Leominster, MA) (1:50.15) and classmate Aria DiCato (Fitchburg, MA) (1:57.24) finished fifth and tenth respectively.

In the field, freshman Sophia Hepler (Orono, ME) finished 14th in the shotput and 11th in the weight throw with tosses of 8.98 meters and 8.82 meters, while junior Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) placed 15th in the shotput with a mark of 8,54 meters.

Rounding out the top Falcon efforts on the day were Marbelis, who placed 19th in the long jump with a mark of 3.75 meters, while in the 200 meter Robinson (24th) and Alcantara (27th) posted times of  30.34 and 30.87 seconds.
