Falcons Shine At ECAC Championships

Harrison leads women with 15th place effort in the 800m; Ouellette finishes tenth overall in the 10,000 meter to pace men

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's and women's outdoor track & field teams were in action on Thursday and Friday afternoon as they competed at the 2015 ECAC Championships hosted by Springfield College.

For the ladies, senior Jenae Harrison led the way, placing 15th overall in the 800 meter with a season best time of 2:17.02, while sophomore Emilee Felton was strong in the javelin (25th) with toss of 32.10.

Sophomore Morgan Steele placed 30th overall in the hammer throw with a mark of 40.61 meters to round out the top Falcon efforts on the women's side.

On the men's side, senior Eric Ouellette registered a tenth place showing in the 10,000 meter with time or 32:02.59, while classmate Ethan Gorecki finished ninth overall in the javelin with a toss of 52.86m

 The 4x800 meter relay team of senior Jim Quinlan, junior Richard Ethier, IV, sophomore Chauncey Beatty and newcomer Jake Hastings turned in a time of 7:56.01 with a 12th place finish, while freshman Ben Sattiewhite registered a 12th place showing in the high jump with a mark of 1.98m to round out the top Fitchburg State efforts at the 2015 ECAC Championships.

Select members of the Fitchburg State men's and women's outdoor track and field teams await their selection to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
