Falcons Host Jim Sheehan Invitational
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's outdoor track & field team hosted the annual Jim Sheehan Invitational in a non-scoring event this afternoon at Elliot Field.
How it Happened
In the 1500 meter run sophomore Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) had a second place finish with a time of 5:14.99, while junior Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.) placed fourth (5:25.16).
Freshman Darcy Lally (Portland, Maine) had a third place finish in 100 meter hurdles (19.85) and earned second place with a jump of 8-00 in the pole vault. Teammate Selina Gibbons (Littleton, Mass.) had a time of 13.83 in the 100 meter dash, a ninth place finish in the 200 meter dash (29.00) and a fifth place finish in the long jump (4.57m).
Senior Olivia Mullins (Plaistow, NH) posted a second place finish in the 5000 meter run with a time of 21:53.16.
By The Numbers
- Sophomore Courtney Brouillet (Fitchburg, Mass.) 4th place in the 400 meter hurdles (1:40.8), and third in 3000 meter steeplechase (17:12.44)
- Freshman Kailey Norton (Worcester, Mass.) and senior Brianna Young (Mansfield, Mass.) placed fourth (25.14m) and fifth (22.58m) respectively in the discus.
- Young captured second in the shot put with a throw of 10.17m and third in hammer throw with a toss of 29.53m
