Peirce finishes with game-best 32 digs for Falcons in non-conference setback 

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Wildcats of Bay Path College in non-conference action this evening at the Parkinson Gymnasium.

How It Happened

Newcomer Jessica Peirce (Brentwood, N.H.) paced the Falcons offensively with a game-best 32 digs, eight service aces and one assist, while junior Nicole Sylvester (Everett, Mass.) chipped in with 15 digs, three assists, two blocks and one service ace. Freshman Perry Joubert (Seekonk, Mass.) was also solid for the Green and Gold, finishing with a team-leading five assists, one service ace and five digs.

For the Wildcats, junior Lexi Cears (Agawam, Mass.) registered a game-best 13 assists, eight digs, one block and a pair of service aces, while senior Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) aided Bay Path's offense with a team-leading 18 digs, four assists, three blocks and one service ace. Junior Ashlee Connors (Springfield, Mass.) put forth a solid showing for the visitors as well, collecting 17 digs, four assists and a pair of service aces.
