Women's Volleyball Bested by Lancers

WORCESTER, MA: Fitchburg State women's volleyball fell to Worcester State this afternoon in conference action.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/7/23

- Score: Worcester 3, Fitchburg 0 (14-25, 15-25, 21-25)

- Records: Worcester (7-10, 2-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg (7-8, 1-1 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Lancers were led offensively by Angela Colonis with seven kills. She also found herself in the mix defensively with 11 digs. Megan Bardis topped Worcester's setters in this one with 14 assists. Camryn Burgio racked up a team-high 14 digs.

- The Falcons struggled to get anything going on offense, managing just 14 kills for the match. Sariah Dyer (Raynham, MA) paced the offense with five kills, finishing with a .308 kill percentage. Emily Gelinas (Westfield, MA) delved out 13 assists. Jessica Greco (Southington, CT) held down the defense with a team-high 12 digs.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Assists: Worcester 29, Fitchburg 14

-  Digs: Worcester 55, Fitchburg 39
