Women's Volleyball Falls to Trailblazers

FITCHBURG, MA: Fitchburg State women's volleyball suffered a conference loss this evening to the Trailblazers of MCLA.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/11/23

- Score: MCLA 3, Fitchburg 0 (9-25, 21-25, 19-25)

- Records: MCLA (13-3, 2-1 MASCAC), Fitchburg (7-9, 1-2 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Trailblazers were paced by Elizabeth Brown and Anais Badio. Brown finished with a match-high 12 kills with just two errors, for a kill percentage of .417. Badio compiled ten kills of her own, finishing with just two errors for a kill percentage of .348. MCLA's offense was run through Shannon O'Brien, who ended the match with 23 assists. Brown also topped her team in digs with 14.

- The Falcons offense struggled in the opening set but settled in through the remainder of the match behind Stephanie Sardella (Billerica, MA). Sardella racked up eight kills, along with three aces and four digs. Emily Gelinas (Westfield, MA) delved out 16 assists and seven digs. Samantha Mirra (Burlington, MA) and Jessica Greco (Southington, CT) both finished with 14 digs. Greco now holds the season record in digs with 262 (258).

-  Digs: MCLA 74, Fitchburg 53
