Fitchburg State Hosts Jim Sheehan Memorial Meet
Gaffney and Taylor guide Falcons to fourth place effort
FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's cross country teams hosted its annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Meet at the Doyle Conservation Center in this afternoon, placing fourth overall, collecting 118 points.
Junior Nicole Gaffney lead the way for the Fitchburg State women's cross country team, placing 14th overall with a time of 21:40 over the 5k layout, while junior Casey Taylor followed suit in 17th place, registering a time of 21:50.
Sophomore Ashley Hyde notched a solid time of 22:01 with a 19th place finish, while junior Shawna Ryan was also strong, posting a time of 24:33. Junior Bridget Diggins was next with a time of 25:09, while freshman Erin Bresnahan (25:36), senior Elizabeth Vrettos (28:04) and sophomore Phedelia Boakye (28:23) closed out the top Falcon performances on the day.
The Fitchburg State women's cross country team returns to action next Saturday as it travels to Trinity College for a meet starting at 10:30 a.m.
