Fitchburg State Shines At Trinity Invite

Falcons place sixth overall with a total of 190 points

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's cross country team competed in the 2016 Bantam Trinity Invitational, placing sixth overall with a total of 190 points in morning.

Junior Casey Taylor lead the way for the Falcons, turning in a solid time of 23:28.1, placing 33rd overall, while sophomore Ashley Hyde followed in 36th place, turning a time of 23:37.2 over the 5K course.

Senior Kelly McCarthy was next, crossing the finish line at 25:43.7, while junior Bridget Diggins posted a time of 26:16.9. Newcomer Erin Bresnahan entered the chute at 26:54.7, while senior Taylor Deschenes (29:13.4) and classmate Elizabeth Vrettos (29:42) closed out the top Falcon efforts on the day.

The Fitchburg State women's cross country team returns to action next Saturday as it completes in the 2016 Corsairs Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth for a meet starting at 11 a.m.
