
Fitchburg State Races At Corsairs Invitational
Gaffney and Taylor pace Falcons at Corsairs Invite
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass – The Fitchburg State women's cross country team was in action this morning, finishing 27th overall with a total of 782 points at the 2016 Corsairs Cross Country Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth.
Junior Nicole Gaffney continued her outstanding start to the season for the Falcons, placing 90th overall with time of 20:15.59 over the 5K course, while classmate Casey Taylor crossed the line at 20:54.09.
Sophomore Ashley Hyde was next, entering the chute at 21:48.88, while senior Shawna Ryan posted a time of 22:53.18. Junior Bridget Diggins turned in a time of 23:20.86, while freshman Erin Bresnahan closed out the top six efforts for the Green and Gold on the day, notching a time of 25:48.66.
The Fitchburg State women's cross country team returns to action on Friday as it completes in the 2016 Worcester City Meet at Moore State Park, hosted by Worcester State University for a meet starting at 4 p.m.
