Fitchburg State Shines At Worcester City Meet

Hyde leads Falcons to fifth place finish at Worcester City Meet

PAXTON, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's cross country team placed fifth overall at the Worcester City Meet this afternoon with a total of 153 points.

Sophomore Ashley Hyde continued her solid start to the season, placing 33rd overall with a time of 23:18 over the 5K layout, while junior Casey Taylor registered a time of 24:28 for the Falcons at Moore State Park.

Senior Kelly McCarthy was next for Fitchburg State, posting a time of 24:59, while junior Bridget Diggins turned in a time of 25:24. Freshman Erin Bresnahan entered the chute with a time of 26:35, while junior Shawna Ryan (26:56) and sophomore Phedelia Boakye (28:08) rounded out the top efforts for the Falcons this afternoon.

The Fitchburg State women's cross country returns to action next Saturday as it completes in the 2016 Keene State College Invitational for a meet starting at 11 a.m.
