Fitchburg State Competes At James Early Meet

Taylor and Hyde pace Falcons at James Early Meet

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's cross country placed 36th overall with a total of 1046 points at the 2016 James Early Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University at Stanley Park this afternoon.

Junior Casey Taylor led the way for the Green and Gold with a strong time of 26:13.74 over the 6K layout, while sophomore Ashly Hyde was next for the Falcons, entering the chute with a time of 26:17.95

Junior Shawna Ryan turned in a time of 27:37.10, while classmate Bridget Diggins posted a time of 29:06.55. Newcomer Erin Bresnahan followed with time of 29:24.02, while junior Alyssa Cardoso (31:56.25) and senior Elizabeth Vrettos (32:32.25) closed out the top performances for Fitchburg State on the day.

The Fitchburg State women's cross country team returns to action on Friday as it completes in the 2016 Saints Invitational, hosted by Emmanuel College at Franklin Park in Boston for a 4 p.m. start.
