Fitchburg State Excels At Saints Invite

Ryan and Hyde lead Falcons to 11th place finish

BOSTON, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's cross country team placed 11th overall with a total of 290 points at the 11th annual Saints Invitational, hosted by Emmanuel College at Franklin Park in Boston this afternoon.

Junior Shawna Ryan led the way for the Falcons, placing 45th overall with solid time of 22:09, while sophomore Ashley Hyde entered the chute at 22:18 with a 46th place effort.

Junior Casey Taylor turned in a time of 22:44, while newcomer Erin Bresnahan followed with time of 25:17. Senior Sadie Zbikowski was next for the Green and Gold, notching a time of 25:17, while freshman Phedelia Boakye (26:04) and junior Alyssa Cardoso (26:06) rounded out the top Fitchburg State efforts on the afternoon.

The Fitchburg State women's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, October 29th as it hosts the 2016 MASCAC Women's Cross Country Championship Meet at the Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster at 11 a.m.
