Fitchburg State Hosts Annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite

Falcons place fourth overall with a total of 89 points 

Leominster, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team hosted its annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Alumni Invitational at the Doyle Conservation Center this morning, placing fourth with a total of 89 points.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State was paced by junior Amy Kelly (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton), who placed fifth overall with time of 20:48.74 over the 5k course, while classmate Casey Taylor (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) entered the cute with a time of 21:41.01 to finish 11th.

Freshman Kambrynn Bowman (Norton, Mass./Norton)) followed in 15th with a solid time of 21:46.69, while senior Shawna Ryan (Hanson, Mass./Whitman-Hanson) crossed the finish line in 30th with a time of 24:02.62).

Rounding out the top seven finishers for the Green and Gold were newcomer Krysta Grider (Hopedale, Mass./JHopedale) (26:49.82), sophomore Jennifer Desilvestre (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) 27:08.14 and freshman Isabella Denio-Miller (Washington, Ind./Jasper) (28:56.82).

Worcester State claimed first place by amassing a total of 26 points

Junior Quinn Porter (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Burnt Hill) of SUNY Cobleskill crossed the finish line first with a time of 20:21.33
