Kelly finishes second overall with time of 19:23.5 

Keene, N.H. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team placed fourth overall with a total of 112 points at the 2018 Keene State College Cross Country Invitational this morning.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State were led by senior Amy Kelly (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton), who placed second overall with a time 19:23.5 over the 5k course, while freshman Savannah Wojcik (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) entered the chute in 24th place with a time of 23:54.7.

Freshman Nyasia Torres (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) was next into the chute with a time of 24:02.0, while senior Jennifer Desilvestre (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) followed with a time 24:39.6, Rounding out the top efforts for the Green and Gold were sophomore Rebbecca O'Brien (Methuen, Mass./Woburn) (27:02.4) and freshman Melony Ellis (West Yarmouth, Mass./West Yarmouth) ( 29:21.1).

Inside the Numbers

Fitchburg State finished in sixth place with a total of 170 points at last year's Keene State Invite.

The Owls of Keene State College won the 2018 Keene State Cross Country Invitational after amassing a total of 21 points.

Keene State junior Lauren Perkowski (Plantesville, Conn./Southington) took top honors at the 2018 Keene State Cross Country Invitational, posting a time of 18:47.2.

The Falcons will compete in the 2018 James Early Memorial Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University at 11:00 AM., while select members will compete in the 2018 All-New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, starting at 11:00 AM next Saturday.
