Keene, N.H. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team placed 16th overall with a total of 446 points at the 2019 Keene State Cross Country Invitational this afternoon.

How It Happened

Freshman Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) paced Fitchburg State with a 51st place time of 20:02.1 over the 5K layout to set a new PR, while classmate Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.) followed with a time of 20:02.6 to finish 52nd overall to also notch a new PR.

Newcomer Erin Maida (Danbury, Conn.) was next to enter the chute for the Green and Gold with a time of 23:04.3, sophomore Regan Kelly (Wilbraham, Mass.) crossed the finish line at 23:26.5. Rounding out the top finishers for Fitchburg State were freshman Nicole Cofer (Lowell, Mass.) (26:16.2), classmate Nicolette Kennedy (Groveland, Mass.) (26:18.2) and junior Melony Ellis (West Yarmouth, Mass.) (27:54.3).

Inside the Numbers

Fitchburg State placed fourth overall at last year's Keene State Cross Country Invite with a total of 112 points.

Williams won the 2019 Keene State Cross Country Invite with a total of 37 points

Senior Lauren Perkowski (Plantsville, Conn.) of Keene State won the meet with time of 18:06.1

All seven runners set new PR times for the Green and Gold on the afternoon
