Boston, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team opened their 2021 slate this afternoon at the Suffolk Short Course Classic in Boston at Franklin Park.

How It Happened
Junior Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.) led the way for Fitchburg State with a strong time of 12:48.8 after placing 31st over the 6K layout, while classmate Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) was next, finishing 38th with a time of 13:17.3
Fellow junior Nicolette Kennedy (Groveland, Mass.) rounded out the top efforts for the Green and Gold on the afternoon with a 76th place time of 15:54.7.

Fitchburg State didn't compete at last year's Suffolk Short Course Classic
Brown University won the 2021 Suffolk Short Course Classic with a total of 17 points.
