
Falcons Finish Fourth at MASCAC Women’s Cross Country Championship
Murphy, McAndrew collect All-MASCAC honors
Devens, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team placed fourth overall with a total of 98 points at the 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Championships this afternoon at a rainy Willard Park.

How It Happened
The Falcons were paced by juniors Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) and Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.) with both runners placing in the top ten and earning MASCAC All-Conference honors. Murphy finished in 6th place with a time of 20:55, while McAndrew finished the 5K course in 21:02 (8th place).
Freshman Joy Wambui (Danvers, Mass.) was next to cross the finish line in 19th with a time of 22:40, while senior Meryem Majaoudou (Ayer, Mass.) hit the chute with a time of 23:23.
Teammates Kaya Scarela (Fitchburg, Mass.) and Erin Maida (Danbury, Conn.) finished back-to-back with times of 26:52 and 27:03 in 46th and 47th place respectively. Junior Courtney Brouillet (Fitchburg, Mass.) rounded out the teams score with a time of 31:42.
Inside the Numbers
