Women’s Cross Country Excel At James Early Invitational
Goba leads the way for Green and Gold with 32nd place time of 24:13.19
Westfield, MA – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team competed at the 2023 James Early Invitational, hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park today.

How It Happened
Sophomore Skye Goba (Norton, MA) led the way for the Falcons, placing 32nd overall with a time of 24:13.19 over the 6K course, while freshman Alexis Toste (Dracut, MA) was next into the chute with a 123rd place time of 28:08.86.
Newcomer Julia Arena (Shrewsbury, MA) posted a time of 30:42.48, while senior Stephanie Piar (Ayer, MA) rounded out the top efforts for the Green and Gold on the day with a time of 36:29.61.
Inside the Numbers
Smith won the 2023 James Early Invitational with a total of 57 points
Tess Drury of St. Michael's won the 2023 James Early Invitational individual title, placing first with a time of 22:19.99
